3 women held for drugs in Cagayan

BAYOMBONG, Nueva Vizcaya: Three women were apprehended for allegedly peddling drugs in Cama-laniugan town in Cagayan, according to a police report on Wednesday.

The police operatives identified the suspects as Florence Mirafuente, 29; Gian Saguire Ginto, 24; and Majelyn Villanueva.

Police said that the suspects are all from the adjoining Aparri town arrested in a buy-bust operation by joint Camalaniugan-Solana town police operatives on Tuesday.

Seized from the suspects were two plastic bags containing suspected shabu of still undetermined amount.

Earlier, two criminology students identified as one Dominick Bocayo and a certain Jordan Andal, both 18-year-old Criminology students of a private school in Tuguegarao City, were arrested for alleged possession of a marijuana brick in Enrile town.

Policemen manning a checkpoint in the town’s Barangay Ruma flagged down the two suspects riding a motorcycle with expired plates.

This has resulted in the discovery of illegal marijuana brick in the u-box of the suspects’ motorcycle.

The suspects opened the motorbike’s u-box to look for the registration papers that led to the discovery of the illegal drugs.

They are now under the custody of the Bureau of Jail Management and Penology while charges are being prepared against them.
