Around 300 Philippine Army (PA) personnel will be participating in “Alay-Lakad 2014” which will take place this Sunday.
Carrying the theme “Lakad para sa Kinabukasan”, the activity aims to raise funds to ensure the future of the less-privileged Filipino youth.
Army Chief Lt. Gen. Hernando DCA Iriberri will lead the PA contingent in this year’s “Alay Lakad”.
The “Alay-Lakad Walk 2014” has a two-kilometer route from the Cultural Center of the Philippines Complex to Quirino Grandstand.
Participation in this annual event is part of the Army’s multi-sectoral approach and inter-agency collaboration that aims to provide support to the endeavors of other government agencies, civic and non-government organizations.
The Alay-Lakad Foundation, Inc. has been providing financial assistance for Filipino youth, especially the marginalized and out-of-school youth, for the past 42 years. PNA
