MORE than 3,000 police officers in Metro Manila were promoted to the next higher rank on Thursday, the director of the National Capital Regional Police Office (NCRPO) said.
NCRPO director Chief Supt. Oscar Albayalde administered the pinning of ranks on 3,369 promoted police non-commissioned officers (PNCO) in Camp Bagong Diwa, Bicutan in Taguig City.
“As your Regional Director, I take pride in every accomplishment that you achieve. I am happy because with your promotion, you can be of more help in our task to implement the law,” Albayalde said in a statement.
Those promoted included 139 Senior Police Officer 4 (SPO4); 45 Senior Police Officer 3 (SPO3); 153 Senior Police Officer 2 (SPO2); 692 Senior Police Officer 1 (SPO1); 874 Police Officer 3 (PO3); and 1,466 Police Officer 2 (PO2).
Chief Supt. Amando Clifton Empiso, the NCRPO Regional Chief Directorial Staff and Chairman of the NCRPO PNCO Selection and Promotion Board, gave assurances that those were properly evaluated and selected.
Albayalde encouraged the newly promoted officers to continue supporting the campaign against illegal drugs and loose firearms.
The NCRPO chief also warned the police officers to stay away from illegal drugs or other criminal activities.
“You all know the consequences of being involved in illegal activities so, you have to refrain from doing so. Be true to your oath. Strive to be a model to other citizens,” Albayalde said.
