• 31 FAMILIES EVACUATED IN 2 TOWNS IN CAPIZ

    ROXAS CITY: Thirty-one families, whose houses are located at the coastal barangays, have been evacuated on Thursday morning to the towns’ civic centers in Pres. Roxas and Pilar, Capiz. Esperedion Pelaez, Provincial Disaster Risk Reduction & Management Council officer, in his report sent to Director Rosario Cabrera, Regional Director of Office of the Civil Defense-Department of National Defense-6 and chairman of Regional Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council, said that out of 31 families, there were 21 families composed of 98 persons evacuated from Barangay Madulano, President Roxas and 10 families from Barangay Rosario and Binaobawan, Pilar, all of the province of Capiz on Thursday. Pelaez said that residents were evacuated because of the strong winds in Capiz spawned by Typhoon Yolanda.
