• 4 Bataan towns suffer 9 hours brownout


    SAMAL, Bataan: Four towns in Bataan on Saturday experienced nine hours of power outage after the National Grid Corporation of the Philippines made annual preventive maintenance in its sub-station in Hermosa town. Towns of Hermosa, Dinalupihan,Orani and Samal were without power from 7:45 a.m to 5:15 p.m. The City of Balanga and towns of Abucay, Pilar, Orion, Limay, Bagac and Morong were in brownout from 5 a.m. to 5:15 p.m. “The power outage was due to the annual preventive maintenance of power transformer at our Hermosa substation simultaneous with the line maintenance works of the Peninsula Electric Cooperative (Penelco) along Hermosa – Balanga 69 KV line,” Ernest Lorenz Vidal, NGCP corporate communications and public affairs officer, said. Penelco is the power distributor in Bataan.
