Four more suspects were charged for illegal possession of firearms after the Ilocos Norte police arrested four Chinese caught carrying high-powered firearms.
Supt. Jeffrey Gorospe, Ilocos Norte police spokesman, identified the suspects as Harry Domingo of Pampanga, Lorenzo Fajardo of Laguna, and Enrique Alvarez and Dennis Co of Quezon City.
Reports showed that some of the unlicensed firearms seized from the Chinese suspects were registered under Domingo’s and his companions’ names.
The four Chinese suspects who were earlier arrested were Lei Guang, Dang Hoi Yin, Lui Xin Fen, and Dennis Min Co.
They were arraigned earlier this month for gun charges before the Regional Trial Court, Branch 19, in Bangui, Ilocos Norte.
On May 18, the Chinese suspects figured in a brief chase with the police, but were intercepted at a checkpoint in Barangay Dadila, Pasuquin, Ilocos Norte.
Police confiscated three MP5 submachine guns, a 40-caliber rifle, a 9-mm Glock pistol, eight grenades, and an improvised explosive device from the suspects.
