At least four people were injured while hundreds of families lost their homes in a three-hour fire that swept through a residential area in Muntinlupa City Wednesday night.
Fire Chief Inspector Roy Aguto, Muntinlupa fire marshal, said the fire on Guillermo Street in Purok 6, Barangay Bayanan, erupted before 8 p.m. reached the fifth alarm past 9 p.m. and was declared out at 11:25 p.m.
Aguto said some residents suffered minor injuries while trying to save their belongings.
At least 600 families who lost their homes took shelter at a nearby school.
Arson investigators are looking at a short circuit or a firecracker as a possible cause of the fire.
