4 inmates in NBP riot moved to Camp Crame

AT LEAST four inmates who were allegedly involved in a deadly prison riot at the New Bilibid Prisons (NBP) Building 14 last week have been moved to the Philippine National Police (PNP) Custodial Center in Camp Crame in Quezon City.

Transferred to the custodial center were Ruben Tiu, Clarence Dongail, Edgar Cinoc and Tomas Donina who were mentioned by alleged drug king Jaybee Sebastian as the ones who stabbed him during the riot.

The move came after the Criminal Investigation and Detection Group (CIDG) requested the transfer of the inmates who are being investigated in connection with the incident.

Director General Ronald “Bato” dela Rosa, PNP chief, on Monday told reporters in Camp Crame–main headquarters of the PNP–before attending a Senate hearing on extrajudicial killings that the transfer also meant to avoid another possible riot.

The four inmates will stay at the custodial center indefinitely until the CIDG completes its probe of the riot where one inmate was killed and three others were injured.
