Four men were killed in separate anti-drug operations in Manila on Thursday night.
Two motorcycle-riding suspects identified as Michael Glifonea, of 3581 Batas St. corner Bacood Street in Santa Mesa, were killed at 6:20 p.m.
At 11:50 p.m., Daniel Petrache, 31, of 285 Lakandula St. in Tondo, was killed when he engaged a police officer in a shootout during a drug buy-bust.
Next to fall was Michael Serrano, 35, of 2858 Road 2, Barretto Subdivision in Pandacan, at 2:30 a.m. in another buy-bust.
Gideon Miranda, 32, of Gate 64 at Area C in the Parola Compound, held his neighbor Sara Jane Cumulang hostage in a bid to escape arrest.
Miranda was the subject of Oplan “Tokhang” at around 4 p.m. Thursday. He tried to run away upon seeing police officers and took Cumulang, 22, as his human shield.
However, the .38 caliber pistol of Miranda was no match to the high-powered guns of the uniformed men. He sustained several gunshot wounds and was declared dead on the spot.
