4 Negros ‘vigilantes’ nabbed

FOUR armed men posing as police and military personnel on an alleged mission against drug personalities were intercepted in a checkpoint in a suburban village in Guinhulngan City, Negros Oriental.

Senior Supt. Harris Fama, Negros Oriental Provincial Police Office director, identified the suspects as Jerry Pasolot, Lourence Cadiente, Jerriel Zuniega and Ronel Cadavid, all from Barangay Mabato in Ayungon town, of the province.

Seized from them were one Colt caliber .45 pistol with two loaded magazines; one 9mm revolver; one .38 caliber revolver and a 14-inch long bladed weapon.

Fama added that some documents pertaining to the suspects’ group, and different improvised identification cards of the Armed Forces of the Philippines and Philippine National Police were also recovered.

Initial police investigation showed that the suspects were operating in the towns of Ayungon, Mabinay and in Bais City and some parts of 1st District in the province.

The suspects allegedly claimed that they are “on mission” against suspected drug personalities in the said towns.

Appropriate charges are being prepared against the suspects who are detained at the Guinhulngan jail.
