FOUR suspected drug pushers have been killed while 12 others have been arrested in separate drug buy-busts since Thursday in the provinces of Rizal, Laguna and Surigao del Norte.
In Rizal, one alias Joker Muslim died in an alleged shootout with members of the Taytay Police in Barangay Santa Ana on Thursday afternoon.
Recovered from the suspect were 10 sachets of shabu; improvised firearm loaded with one cartridge; 2 caliber .38 revolvers; a red pouch containing P837 cash, including the P500 marked money; and drug paraphernalia.
A subsequent operation led to the arrest of Rogelio Ronque, 40; Nestor Zarco, 29; Ramon Rocillo, 39; Orlando Reyes Jr., 35; and Martin Joseph Laudit, 28, all residents of Lupang Arenda in the same village.
Another drug suspect, identified only as alias Charlie, was also killed in Tanay town, Rizal.
Police found a .357 caliber revolver with three unfired live ammunition and two unfired empty shells in Charlie’s possession along with several sachets of shabu.
In San Mateo town, an unidentified man allegedly involved in robbery hold-up and illegal drug trade, was killed during an operation before dawn Thursday.
San Mateo Police chief Ruben Piquero said a victim, Annabelle Blanes, reported to their office that she had been held up by two unidentified men in Barangay Guinayang at about 1:20 a.m.
During a pursuit operation, the suspects reportedly resisted arrest and fired shots at responding police officers that resulted in a gunfight.
One suspect died while the other escaped.
Piquero said the two suspects were also involved in the illegal drug trade in San Mateo and neighboring towns.
Seized from the suspects were several sachets of shabu, cash, watch, assorted jewelry and digital camera, a .38 caliber revolver with live ammunition and fired cartridge cases.
In San Pedro City, Laguna, another pusher, Ronaldo Marin, was slain during an anti-illegal drug operation also on Friday.
The City Police chief, Supt. Harold Depositar, said Marino sold a sachet of shabu to a poseur buyer that prompted other operatives to swoop down on him.
The suspect, however, allegedly drew his firearm and fired at the police. He then tried to escape but was felled by a bullet fired by the policemen.
Meanwhile, seven suspected drug peddlers and users were arrested with 10 grams of shabu worth about P125, 000 on Thursday morning in Surigao City.
The Caraga Police director, Chief Supt. Rolando Felix, identified the suspects as Tessie de Castro, Matthew Joseph Lagura, Sharon Fuentes, Arnel Rojo Parpan, King Ganto, Richelle Escunan and Cyril Larines, who is listed as No.1 pusher in Sison town.
De Castro was nabbed in Purok 1-A, Barangay San Juan with five grams of shabu worth P59,200.
Lagura and Fuentes were caught inside a reported drug den they allegedly run in Purok Sampaguita, Barangay Washington.
Arrested in the same raid were Parpan, Ganto, Escanan who were found with eight plastic sachets of shabu worth P7,552.
Felix said recovered from Larines were four sachets of shabu weighing at least 5 grams worth P59,200.
