Agents of the National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) have filed trafficking of minors charges against four women.
Maris Bella Doctor, alias Mommy Grace, and her companions were arrested in her Taurus Videoke and Disco Bar in Laoag City, Ilocos Norte, in an entrapment last week.
Minors Dani, Anlynn and Jheg, not their real names, said the suspects recruited them as house helpers from their hometown in Irosin town, Sorsogon province. Early March this year, they arrived in Laoag and they were forced to work as guest relations officers (GROs).
The three managed to run away and sought the help of authorities.
The minors identified three other suspects, all surnamed Doctor—Editha, Gloria and Rosanna—who acted as their superiors in the club.
The victims said they had two other companions, also minors from Sorsogon, who were recruited and were still working at the KTV bar when they escaped.
Authorities rescued the two minors during the entrapment.
An NBI agent posed as a client. He asked that a GRO named “Joyce” be allowed to go with him. After paying a P2,500 bar fine, agents swooped down and arrested Mommy Grace still holding the marked money.
Joyce told probers that they were not allowed to go out of the house when not on duty at the bar.
