• 410 CARP scholars graduate


    ILOILO CITY: Children of farmers who benefitted from the government’s Comprehensive Agrarian Reform Program (CARP) in Western Visayas graduated from college under the 10-year Programang Agraryo Iskolar. Department of Agrarian Reform Regional Director Gideon Umadhay Jr. said the scholarship program started in 2003-2004 and ended this schoolyear 2013-2014. The program encourages students to take up agriculture-related courses in state-owned colleges and universities to be able to contribute to the modernization of agriculture and to provide continuity in the pursuit of technology-laden agriculture and sustainability of the land awarded to CARP beneficiaries.
