A 5.7-magnitude earthquake rocked parts of Davao Oriental on Wednesday morning, according to Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (PHILVOCS).
In its bulletin, Phivolcs said the tremor occurred at 7:58 a.m. with its epicenter traced 57 kilometers southeast of Mati in Davao Oriental.
The agency said the quake was felt at Intensity 5 in Davao City and Mati, Davao Oriental; Intensity 4 in Digos City; Don Marcelino and Malita towns in Davao del Sur; Intensity 3 in Butuan City; Kidapawan City; Tagum City; Panabo City; Compostela Valley; Matanao, Davao del Sur; and Intensity 2 in San Francisco, Agusan del Sur; Cotabato City; General Santos City; Koronadal City; Polomolok, South Cotabato; and Alabel Sarangani.
The temblor, which was tectonic in origin, has a shallowdepth of 52 kilometers.
Phivolcs said there was no damage reported but aftershocks are expected. PNA
