Five suspected drug pushers were killed while two others were arrested in separate anti-illegal drugs operations in Quezon City over the weekend.
Quezon City Police District (QCPD) Director Senior Supt. Guillermo Eleazar said Edgardo Areta was shot dead after he fired at police operatives who investigated reports on the selling of shabu in TS Cruz Subdivision, Barangay San Agustin. Areta was in the drug watch list of Police Station 4.
In another operation, operatives led by Chief Insp. Sandie Caparroso were about to serve a search warrant at the house of Joel Cabusas, in 33 Barangay Payatas on Friday when the latter’s cohort identified as Ruel Faron warned Cabusas of the presence of the lawmen. The duo ignored the policemen’s call for them to surrender and opened fire, forcing the police offers to retaliate.
The two men were declared dead on arrival at the Quirino Memorial Medical Center.
On Sunday, operatives of the Masambong Police Station headed by Supt Igmedio Bernaldez conducted a buy-bust operation against Rodolfo Bano aka Jay-R and a certain “Jojo”, who are allegedly notorious drug pushers in Barangay Proj. 6.
A lawman was able to buy P500 worth of shabu from the two men but they sensed the presence of other policemen and fired at the operatives. The policemen fought back, killing the two men instantly.
Scene of the crime operatives recovered 14 plastic sachets of shabu from Jay-R, three sachets of shabu from Jojo.
Meanwhile, an alleged drug pusher was shot dead by two men on a motorcycle at dawn Sunday dawn in Caloocan City.
The body of the unidentified victim was found at the corner of Edsa and Tandang Sora St.
Police said the victim sustained four gunshot wounds.
