ELEVEN people died in an explosion on Tuesday in Basilan perpetrated allegedly by the Abu Sayyaf Group (ASG), according to the Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP).

The eleventh person who died was the driver of the white van, where an improvised explosive device (IED) was detonated at 5:50 a.m., according to Col. Edgard Arevalo, AFP spokesman.
