FIVE young men who came from a drinking spree were shot and killed by three unidentified assassins at the boundary of Makati and Pasay Cities before dawn on Wednesday.
Southern Police District (SPD) Director Chief Supt. Jet Villacorte identified the fatalities as Chuckie Dy Cruz, 22; Francisco Cruz, 20; Raymart Saraza, 20; Andrew Lloyd Cruz, 23; and Rogelio Diala, 23, all residents of Magtibay Street, Pasay City.
Villacorte said the victims were ambushed by the assailants while they were crossing the Arnaiz Cementina Dolores Bridge at around 2:36 a.m.
He said the three unidentified male suspects who were aboard two motorcycles—one solo rider and two riding in tandem—came from nowhere and confronted the victims before firing at them.
The victims, according to Villacorte, were all declared dead on arrival at the Pasay City General Hospital. PCGH surgeon Dr. Victor Potero declared the victims dead upon past 3 a.m.
The suspects, who wore full helmets, sped off towards Arnaiz Avenue in Pasay City after the shooting. The motive for the killing has yet to be established.
Tracker teams were sent out to get the suspects. It was learned that the victims were related to each other.
Scene of the Crime Operatives recovered 18 empty shells from a caliber .40 pistol.
