The National Capital Region Police Office (NCRPO) on Sunday said there are 54 celebrities included in their updated drug list.
NCRPO Director Chief Supt. Oscar Albayalde said the names in the list were based on the information provided by actresses Sabrina M. and Krista Miller who were arrested by the Quezon City Police District Office (QCPD) for drugs.
Albayalde however refused to reveal the names of the celebrities saying authorities are still validating them.
“These are all being subjected to validation,” he said.
The NCRPO chief said majority of the celebrities in the drug list are using shabu, cocaine and party drugs.
Albayalde said more names will be added to the drug list because anti-drug operations continue in Metro Manila.
“Every time we make arrests, more names are being included because they were all telling us the persons they transact with,” he said.
The NCRPO chief clarified that actor Mark Anthony Fernandez, who was arrested in possession of almost one kilo of marijuana last week in Pampanga, was not included in the drug list.
Fernandez had claimed that he used marijuana for medical purposes.
Meanwhile, a suspected drug dealer was shot dead in Sta Ana, Manila on Sunday.
Detective Jonathan Bautista said Frederic de Assis, 35, was sleeping when an unidentified suspect barged in and shot him three times in the back.
The gunman left a note saying “Drug pusher, wag tularan (Drug pusher, do not emulate).”
The victim surrendered twice in Oplan Tokhang operations and was included in the drug watch list.
The victim’s wife admitted that her husband uses drugs but he does not sell them.
