• 6 hurt in 8-vehicle collision on C-5


    SIX people were taken to hospital after eight vehicles figured in an accident Friday night on C-5 Road in Bonifacio Global City, Taguig.

    A report from the city traffic bureau said that a 10-wheeler truck had a brake malfunction and crashed into an Elf truck directly ahead at 10:30 p.m.

    The collision involved were three sports utility vehicles, two Toyota Innova units and a sedan.

    San Narciso, Quezon Mayor Eleanor Uy and three other companions were aboard one of the affected cars but they were unhurt.

    According to Taguig Public Order and Safety Office, those injured were separately brought to the Taguig-Pateros District Hospital and St. Luke’s Medical Center.

    Nonito Vista, driver of the 10-wheeler truck, apologized to the victims, explaining that he was left with no choice but to slam the Elf truck ahead of him.

    Vista is now detained at the traffic bureau and facing charges of reckless imprudence resulting in multiple physical injuries and damage to property.
