AT least six persons were injured in a pile-up involving eight vehicles in Kalayaan Avenue, Makati City (Metro Manila) Wednesday morning.
A pick up truck with plate number UOW-353 fell from the Kalayaan flyover and landed on a sedan, triggering a multi-car smashup.
Goddess Hope Libiran, spokesperson of the Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA), said the incident occurred at around 7 a.m.
The MMDA sent an ambulance to carry the victims to the hospital. Personnel from Makati Rescue and South Cembo Rescue teams arrived with two fire trucks to clear the road of spilled oil and gasoline from the wrecked vehicles.
The smashup blocked one lane of Kalayaan Avenue during the morning rush hour.
