The six fishermen who were rescued off the coast of Cabugao, Ilocos Sur after their fishing boat capsized were able to return home on Saturday after being given food and medical attention.
Chief Insp. William Nerona, Cabugao town police chief, identified the rescued fishermen as Benjamin Labay, Mario Mira, Jay–R Basar, Joey Cotangco, Marlon Gaban and Jun Enjencio, all from Barangay Cato, Infanta, Pangasinan.
The six were members of an eight-man crew on board a fishing boat that sailed to the West Philippine Sea on June 16.
Their fishing boat capsized when big waves brought by the passing Typhoon Emong lashed at the vessel.
The two other members of the crew, Reynato Milanio and Randy Mugo, were rescued on June 26 along the shoreline of La Union province.
