• 69th PSL Leg series begins in Bacolod today

The search for 2015 Summer World University Games continues as the Philippine Swimming League (PSL) holds its 69th PSL Leg Series today at the Panaad Sports Complex in Bacolod City.

“The competition will be a selection for Summer World Universiade 2015 to be held in Gwangju Korea for college students while the 6-16 yrs. old will be selection for the Singapore, Perth Australia and Shanghai China and other international competitions,” said PSL President Susan Papa.

The event will be hosted by the Panaad Swimming team with more than 200 swimmers from Aklan, Capiz, Iloilo, Cebu, Bohol, Cavite, Bacolod and other neighboring cities vying for honors.

There are nine Negrense swimmers who were selected to compete in the 2014 Royal Bangkok Swimming Meet on November 27 to December 2 in Thailand. They are Jason Adrian Mirabueno, Danika Mikaela Alba, Jerald Lawrence Rubin, Kyle Andrew Lemery, Lance Jiro Tacsagon, Aisha Cherub Ormeo, Jared Ormeo, Jose Benedict Palafox and RJ Andrea Chico.

“This tournament will serve as their buildup for the Bangkok Meet. We want to earn a lot of medals in Thailand just like what we did in Singapore, Hong Kong, Australia and South Africa early this year,” added Papa.

They are President Jun Santibañez, Vice President Lorry Ormeo, Secretary Mary Alba, Treasurer Anna Alagaban, Assistant Treasurer Alito Basanes, Auditor Janice Timillar, Public Information Officer Ranee Mirabueno and Head Coach Deo Lanza.
