SEVEN people were hurt in a multiple collision of passenger vehicles on the northbound lane of EDSA Guadalupe in Makati City on Tuesday morning.
A report from the Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA) Metro Base said a Roval Transport bus (ARA 8273) bound for Valenzuela City from MuntinlupaCity rammed a jeepney (PYH 292) at about 6:02 a.m.
Because of strong impact of the collision, the jeepney hit two more jeepneys (TQX 292 and TXJ 608) and a taxi (UVM 470).
Five male and two female passengers were slightly injured in the accident and brought to the Ospital ng Makati.
The driver and conductor of the Roval bus fled after the accident.
Their identities are being determined by police.
The Metropolitan Manila Development Authority said the accident caused heavy traffic in the are, adding it had a hard time in towing the bus because of its brake problems.
Meanwhile, an 18-wheeler trailer truck also caused trouble to motorists on the northbound of Osmeña Highway after it suddenly caught fire at about 10:47 a.m.
There was no injury reported and the fire was extinguished after a few minutes.
Authorities are investigating the cause of the fire.
