7 SOLDIERS, 2 OTHERS WOUNDED IN NPA AMBUSH IN AGUSAN DEL SUR

ZAMBOANGA CITY: At least seven government soldiers were reported wounded in a clash Friday with communist rebels in southern Philippines. Of the nine injured, seven were enlisted personnel of the Philippine Army, and the other two were a policeman and a member of the Citizens Armed Forces Geographical Unit. The soldiers were providing security to a police team serving an arrest warrant a certain Nelson LUpatan Campos at Sitio Kipuyag, Barangay San Pedro, San LKuis, Agusan del Sur, for the crime of murder when New People’s Army rebels ambushed them.
