Sr. Supt. Manuel M. Manuel, Quezon City Fire Marshall, said the fire along Santan St., Agham Road, Sitio San Roque 11, Barangay Bagong Pagasa started at about 11:30 p.m.

It reached the fifth alarm before it was declared fire out at 1:10 a.m, he said.

Initial investigation by Fire Inspector Rosendo Cabellan showed that the fire started on the second floor of a house owned by Janet Camora.

Most of the houses were made of light materials and were occupied by informal settlers, reports said.

Meanwhile, BFP said no cases of serious injury were reported, although there were residents who passed out during the fire.

The bureau said the estimated damage to property was at P400,000 and no evacuation center was available for the fire victims. ELSHAMAE ROBLES
