Police operatives seized some 72 kilograms of suspected shabu in a drug raid in Las Piñas City on Tuesday night.
The operation was led by Philippine National Police chief Ronald de la Rosa and Southern Police District (SPD) Director Chief Supt. Tomas Apolinario.
Personnel from PNP’s Drug Enforcement Group and the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency Central Luzon joined the raid at Tiongquiao Street, B.F. Martinville Subdivision.,Barangay Manuyo 2.
The raid was made by virtue of a search warrant issued by Judge Reynaldo Alhambra of the Manila Regional
Trial Court against a certain Mr. Lee, alias “Johnny,” alias “Sy,” alias “Luk,” alias “Jimmy,” alias “Pilay,” and alias “Tanda” for violating Republic Act 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
The packets of drugs, worth at least P360 million, were placed inside boxes of dried fish.
De la Rosa called on the Bureau of Customs to “enforce stricter measures in inspecting all materials coming in the country.”
“We have a task force deployed on the coastal ports. We have our anti-drug forces which are PDEA, [BoC], PNP.
They all should be within the area of entry not just within the seas and coast, but also in airports,” he said.
