78-year-old man gets aid pledge from fellow voter Aquino

TARLAC CITY: It was a lucky day for 78-year-old Domingo Simon, who voted in the same precinct where President Benigno Aquino 3rd did Monday.
The President and Simon cast their vote at Precinct 175-A at the Central Azucarera de Tarlac Elementary School.
Wearing a blue shirt and jeans, the President arrived at around 11 a.m. with his sisters Ballsy Aquino-Cruz and Pinky Aquino-Abellada.
Before voting, Aquino chatted with Simon, who suffers from kidney problems.
Speaking to reporters later, Simon said he told the President about his ailment but that he cannot afford a medical check-up because he has not been receiving his pension.
The President promised him medical assistance, Simon said.
“I’m lucky because I was able to tell the President Noynoy about my predicament,” he said in Filipino.
“Now I can live a little longer,” Simon added.
According to Malacanang, the President directed officials from the Presidential Management Staff and Department of Health to help Simon with his medical needs. They will be coming to Tarlac on Tuesday.
Tarlac City has the biggest number of voters in Tarlac province with 2,762.
The President was number 5 among the 287 registered voters at his precinct. He only took a few minutes to cast his vote and left the precinct right after.
