The Philippine Coast Guard (PCG) clarified that the number of bodies recovered from the Cebu sea mishap is at 80 as of Tuesday morning, and not 81 as it earlier reported.
According to the PCG headquarters in Manila, the Coast Guard Station in Cebu province made a count at the funeral parlor and found out that there were only 80 bodies retrieved.
As of Tuesday morning, the PCG said the number of rescued persons in M/V St. Thomas Aquinas 1 were 733, of which 629 were passengers and 104 were crew.
The unaccounted persons are 57 and not 39 as earlier reported.
Technical divers continued with the search operations Tuesday morning after the weather improved in the area. PNA
