LEGAZPI CITY: In a bid to lessen the backlog of school classrooms in Bicol, the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) will be constructing P629.2 million, or 852 classrooms across the region this year.

Lucy Castañeda, DPWH regional spokesman told The Manila Times that the department will construct for Department of Education (DepEd) calendar year 2013 Basic Educational Facilities Fund where 852 classrooms with an allocation of P629.2 million will be im-plemented as soon as an exemption from Resolution 9585, series of 2012 will be granted by the Commission on Elections.
