Mass housing developer 8990 Holdings Inc. is accelerating the construction of housing units as it topped off its urban condominium project more than three months ahead of schedule.
In a statement, 8990 said it has topped off Urban DECA Tower EDSA–the company’s first high rise project–last Friday, after 654 days of construction.
8990 Chief Executive Officer Januario Jesus Atencio said the firm plans to deliver the first 400 units of the project by December this year.
“We’ve topped off DECA Tower EDSA 100 days ahead of schedule. We want to deliver the first 400 units by December 2016,” Atencio said.
The project located along EDSA in Mandaluyong City began construction in November 2014. Last April, 8990 announced that the project was already 70 days ahead of its construction schedule. The total project cost is P745 million, according to 8990.
At present, more than 60 percent of the Urban DECA Tower EDSA is sold, the company added.
8900 noted that unit prices for the project have appreciated since the project was launched in 2014, from an initial price of P990,000 per unit to the current price of P1.4 million per unit.
Urban DECA Tower EDSA falls under 8990’s halfway housing project offering, which caters to Filipinos workers who work in Metro Manila, but live outside of the Metropolis.
“ . . . the concept of “halfway housing” answers the need of metro Manila workers who have decided to live in the metropolis during the weekday for a better quality of life, and come home to their primary residences during weekends,” 8990 said.
The tower will offer a total of 1,148 units, which are spread across the building’s 41 residential floors.
“Each unit is fully furnished with an air-conditioning unit, bed good for 2, microwave oven, built in cabinets, sink, toilet and bath,” 8990 said.
The development will also feature a ground floor social area, four basement levels, parking slots, a convenience store, a Laundromat, a food hall, and lounge area as well as commercial spaces. It will also be equipped with a 24-hour CCTV and security and four high-speed elevators.
Urban DECA Tower EDSA is located at Sierra Madre St. and Edsa in Barangay Highway Hills, Mandaluyong City.
