A show of glamor and elegance was held all in the name of charity at the Makati Shangri-La. Now on its 10th year, the Best Dressed Women of the Philippines (BDWP) Awards Ball gathered the country’s most stylish women as they joined hands to support the many advocacies of the Philippine Cancer Society.
Fourteen lovely ladies led by Style Icons Joyce Peñas Pilarsky and Elaine Rojas Villar and awardees Tiffany Chua-Copok, Mags Cue, Maila Garcia, Ann Hofer, Marites Gonzales Lampert, Carol Mercado, Charisse Marie Abalos, Jerika Ejercito, Lauren Lior Liechtenstein, Jacqueline Michelle Cañiza Lim, Nikki Tang and Princess Violago-Dee walked down the ramp in their fashionable gowns created by some of the country’s top fashion designers.
The annual high-profile, fund-raising event, initiated by honorary chairman Imelda Ongsiako-Cojuangco, took months of planning and dedication to prepare. Also, kudos to the selection and organizing committee led by event chairman and Angola consul Helen Ong.
Some of the past awardees even agreed to have their Awards Ball gowns displayed at the foyer as part of the retrospective exhibit 10 Fabulous Years of Best Dressed Gallery.
The much-awaited parade of the awardees in their stunning long gowns was preceded by an auction of “Hug Me Tight,” a one-of-a-kind crystal sculpture by renowned glass sculptor Ramon Orlina.
