Believe it or not, multi-awarded singer, songwriter and rapper Gloc 9—the genius behind such powerful hits as “Hindi Pa Tapos” from Bonifacio ang Unang Pangulo, “Hari ng Tondo,” and “Sirena”—has never held a solo concert in his 18-year career.

Yes, he has performed in countless shows as a guest artist but never felt the need to headline one.

“Wala po siya sa wish list ko,” confessed the Awit Award winning rapper, who is undoubtedly, the late Francis M.’s successor in the genre.

His latest single “Payag,” which he released on the day of his 18th anniversary in the music industry on September 1 seems to be the reason for his change of heart—the song’s message in midst of the run up to the crucial 2016 national elections. For as always, Gloc 9’s music speaks volumes of truths about the state of current affairs, and “Payag” asks its listeners why they allow themselves to be swayed by sugar-coated words and manufactured appearances of traditional politicians.

Asked how he has been able to write socially relevant music for close to two decades now, Aristotle Pollisco—Gloc 9’s name in real life—simply replied that songs come to him just by looking around him.

The artist further said, “Naniniwala po ako na you can never force music.

He will go onstage at the Music Museum for four consecutive Saturdays of his birthday month in October. Produced by PPL Entertainment Inc, each night of the concert series see the rap superstar and his band GLOCNINE performing with different guest artists. On October 10, he will feature Aiza Seguerra, Bamboo, Jay Durias, Jennylyn Mercado, Kylie Padilla and Marc Abaya; on October 17, Chito Miranda, Ebe Dancel, Janno Gibbs, Jonalyn Viray and Rico Blanco; on October 24, Ebe Dancel, Jolina Magdangal, Ogie Alcasid, Regine Velasquez-Alcasid and Yeng Constantino; and on October 31, Ebe Dancel, Jay Durias, Julie Ann San Jose and Kz Tandingan.
