SAN LUIS, Aurora: Police authorities arrested Tuesday night a notorious drug pusher victimizing students and out-of-school youths in this province.
Police Inspector Floriano B. Garcia, officer-in-charge chief of police of San Luis Police Station, identified the suspect as Jobert Amatorio, alias Joey, 30, of Barangay 4, San Luis, Aurora.
Garcia said that Amatorio is second top priority target list of notorious drug pusher in the provincial level.
He said that a tracker team of San Luis Police Anti-illegal Drug Special Operation Task Group and Provincial Anti-illegal Drug Special Operation Task Group (PAIDSOTG) personnel arrested Amatorio in his residence at around 8:30 p.m. Tuesday in a buy-bust operation.
“Amatorio was nabbed after selling marijuana bricks to a police agent who acted as a poseur-buyer. The success of the operation is due to the three-day long intelligence buildup conducted by the police to the community in the said barangay,” Garcia said.
The team seized from the drug pusher one piece crumpled paper containing suspected dried marijuana leaves and fruiting tops weighing 0.7432 grams; one piece open plastic sachet containing 12.1145 grams; one piece plastic bag weighing 119.4875 grams; one black O+ cellular phone; one black Nokia cellular phone; and cash money on different denominations.
Amatorio is now facing charges for violation of section 5 (selling), 11 (possession) and 15 (using of drugs) of Republic Act 9165, or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
Prior to his arrest, numerous complaints were received by the police authorities regarding the rampant selling of illegal drugs targeting students which resulted to the immediate surveillance, casing and test buy operation.
Meanwhile, records showed that Amatorio is under the police Oplan Lambat-Sibat which is monitoring arrested persons without warrant of arrest in this province.
