ABAP says no changes in national team

The Association of Boxing Alliances in the Philippines (ABAP) announced that it will retain all members of the national team despite the failure of Filipino boxers to win a gold medal in the recent Asian Games in Incheon, South Korea. “We will keep our boxing line up and no changes until the year ends. You saw what happened in the Asian Games, most countries were all frustrated with the way the host country handled the event,” said ABAP Executive Director Ed Picson, pertaining to the controversial wins of South Korean pugs in the recently concluded quadrennial meet. Charly Suarez received a P1 million from ABAP and another P500,000 incentive from the Philippine Sports Commission for winning a silver medal in Incheon.
