LISTED AboitizPower Corp. is renewing its contracts with power suppliers while implementation of the retail competition and open access (RCOA) scheme remains in limbo due to a temporary restraining order (TRO) issued by the Supreme Court (SC).
“We’re renewing a lot of contracts to not necessarily buy new capacity but renewing a lot of capacity,” AboitizPower First Vice President Sandro Aboitiz told reporters on the sidelines of the Electricity Policy in the Philippines Forum and Book Launch hosted by the University of the Philippines’ Energy Policy and Development Program (EPDP).
