ABS-CBN Broadcasting Network and GMA Network., both claimed leadership in TV viewership for January.
ABS said it remains the most watched TV network in the country with an average national audience share of 42 percent, or six points higher compared to GMA’s 36 percent, based on data from Kantar Media for the month of January.
Kantar Media uses a nationwide panel size of 2,609 urban and rural homes that represent 100 percent of the total Philippine TV viewing population, while the other ratings data supplier AGB Nielsen reportedly has only 1,980 homes based solely in urban areas that represent only 57 percent of the Philippine TV viewing population.
GMA said that compared to the previous month, GMA significantly increased its household audience shares across all timeblocks including primetime in NUTAM or the National Urban Television Audience Measurement, driving its dominance over rival networks.
GMA said that it emerged as the country’s number one TV network in the month of January, according to data from the Nielsen TV Audience Measurement.
