ZAMBOANGA CITY – Dozens of Abu Sayyaf rebels have escaped a massive military assault in Basilan that has left two soldiers dead and 28 more wounded.
Security officials said up to a dozen rebels were slain the fierce fighting in the villages of Ungkaya Pukan and Tipo-Tipo town, but troops had not recovered a single body of Abu Sayyaf militants in the areas.
