ACCREDITATION OF BROADCASTERS TO RATIONALIZE

ILOILO CITY: The Kapisanan ng mga Brodkaster ng Pilipinas (KBP) will come up with a national policy by 2016 to rationalize the accreditation of all radio and television broadcasters. Speaking at the two-day seminar workshop on anti-trafficking and reporting of trafficking cases for media practitioners in this city last week, lawyer Wilhelm Soriano of KBP and vice president of UNTV said that there are too many existing laws protecting women but sadly, these laws lack the enforcement aspect and implementation. Reacting to the proliferation of political blocktimers especially during the election period, Soriano said they are rushing up the 2016 policy in a move to professionalize the broadcast industry.
