Accused in the pork barrel scam arrives home from the US

A former aide of former president and now Manila Mayor Joseph “Erap” Estrada, who is also an accused in the pork barrel scam, arrived back home on Friday dawn.

Ruby Tuason flew in direct from San Francisco, California, arriving at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport Terminal 2 via Philippine Airlines fight PR-105 which came in at 3:40 am.

Tuason, her lawyer said, will be under the Department of Justice’s (DOJ) Witness Protection Program (WPP) as she will disclose everything she knew about the funds misuse.

From the airport, Tuason was whisked by National Bureau of Investigation agents directly to the Department of Justice in Manila.

Dennis Manalo, Tuason’s lawyer, said his client would turn state witness and she had executed a sworn affidavit.

Manalo said he went along with NBI agents to fetch Tuason in the US and bring her back home after her application to the WPP was approved. PNA
