Acedo sisters rule Kadayawan bikefest


DAVAO CITY: The dynamic Acedo sisters Myra Regina and Angelica of Team Davao Livestrong Builders had dominated the two-day 31st Kadayawan Bikefest held over the weekend in Davao City.

Sixteen-year old Myra Regina a.k.a. Queenie, a gold medallist in the 2015 Batang Pinoy mountain bike race, first ruled the Open Ladies category in the Mayor Inday Sara and Vice Mayor Pulong Duterte Lumba Bisiklita sa Kadayawan held last August 20.

She was followed by her older sister Angelica a.k.a. King in second while triathlete Salome Zamora placed third.

The following day, the Acedos under the watchful eyes of their coach Ma. Jovita “Jojo”Tan duplicated their 1-2 finish in the Kadayawan Rody Duterte Unity Ride road bike competition held at the same venue.

They were followed again by Zamora in third place.

The mountain bike race was presented by the city government of Davao while the road bike was presented by the Skywaze Promotions and Advertising Inc.

The races were organized by the Philcycling and the Citywide Cycling Enthusiasts of Davao headed by its president Salvador Paholio.

It was supported by Lumba Steeltech Colored Roofing, Filmix Concrete Industries, Emperador Brandy, Cisa Marketing, Travellers Surety & Insurance, Terrain Challenger 611, Davao Pobre Bikers Assn. and Davao City Sports Council Inc.
