RAIN or Shine and Alaska Aces break a 1-1 tie on Monday in the best-of-seven semifinal series of the 40th Philippine Basketball Association (PBA) Philippine Cup at the Mall of Asia Arena in Pasay City.
The Elasto Painters riding high on their 102-95 win in Game Two on Saturday to put the series back to square one, are expected to play with the same intensity when they collide with the Aces in the lone game at 7 p.m.
“It was a total team effort. We were lucky to be able to get the win and tied the series,” said assistant coach Caloy Garcia, who pinched hit for head coach Yeng Guiao in Game Two.
Coach Alex Compton of Alaska, on the other hand, said that they just have to work much more harder in the third game, saying it’s just 1-1.
“They just played harder. We have to try to stop a very good team, a very disciplined team, a well-coached team. I am not thinking which one has the edge now, I’m thinking how my guys are going to play next time,” said Compton, whose team won Game One (87-80).
