ACTING Chief Justice Antonio Carpio will “decline any nomination” for the top post at the Supreme Court, saying he did not want to benefit from the decision of majority of his colleagues, who granted the quo warrant petition that removed then incumbent Maria Lourdes Sereno.
“I have to be consistent with my position that the quo warranto is not the proper way to remove a sitting member of the court so I don’t want to benefit from the decision which I disagree. But I will have to implement it because I’m the temporary head of the institution,” said Carpio in an interview with “Headstart” host Karen Davila that was aired on ABS-CBN News Channel on Wednesday.
