• Adamson, FEU face separate foes today in UAAP women’s volleyball

Adamson University and Far Eastern University (FEU) will try to strengthen their Final Four bids when they face separate foes today in the University Athletic Association of the Philippines Season 77 women’s volleyball tournament at The Arena in San Juan City.

Adamson takes on University of Santo Tomas (UST) at 4 p.m. while FEU faces winless University of the East (UE) at 2 p.m.

Adamson is currently in fifth with 3-4 while FEU is in sixth with 3-5.

Defending champion Ateneo de Manila University (7-0), De La Salle University (7-1), National University (4-3) and University of the Philippines (4-4) are occupying the top four spots.

Adamson wants to duplicate their 25-17, 15-25, 25-20, 25-20 win over UST in the first round with Mylene Paat, Amanda Villanueva and Jessica Galanza expecting to banner the Lady Falcons’ offense.

The Tigresses, on the other hand, are in high spirits following their morale-boosting 21-25, 27-25, 25-16, 25-23 victory over the Lady Tamaraws on January 10.

The win lifted UST to 2-5 mark to stay in Final Four contention.

UST will rely on team captain Pam Lastimos, rookie EJ Laure, Carmela Tunay and Cebu standout Cherry Rondina as well as middle hitters Jessey De Leon and Ria Meneses. EMIL C. NOGUERA
