Add’l NBI team to help in identification of ‘Yolanda’ victims

An additional group of doctors and technical experts from the National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) will leave Tuesday for Tacloban City to help in the identification of victims of super typhoon “Yolanda” last November 8.

According to NBI Officer-In-Charge Medardo De Lemos, the group is composed of 14 to 16 doctors, photographers and technicians.

De Lemos said that this is already the fourth group from the NBI who will proceed to Tacloban for the ongoing Disaster Victim Identification (DVI).

The fourth group will help the NBI start its full-blast process of the DVI.

Meanwhile, Justice Secretary Leila M. De Lima on Tuesday said that the group of International Criminal Police Organization (Interpol) experts who would like to help in the DVI is again asking for the holding of another meeting with concerned government authorities.

In the meeting, De Lima said the foreign experts will present the result of their assessment, recommendation and proposed protocol. PNA
