MITSUBISHI Motors Phils. Corp. (MMPC) announced that it has built and sold more than 100,000 units of the Mitsubishi Adventure, a locally manufactured utility vehicle.

MMPC said the milestones are “truly remarkable” in the local automotive industry. It sold 100,300 units of the Adventure from January 1998 to April this year.

The company said it started to produce the Adventure in October 1997, with the model introduced to the market in January 1998—instantly gaining acceptance. MMPC then topped the overall industry sales in 1998 following the Adventure’s full year of market presence.

MMPC said the Adventure was designed to respond to the needs of Filipino families, and is ideal given its size, features, affordable price and low running cost. Throughout the years, the model saw continuous features and quality improvements so it could exceed customers’ expectations. MMPC said that the Adventure remains to be a significant model in its product lineup, as well as in the local market.

The Adventure has consistently landed on the top 10 best-selling models‘ list in the country’s light commercial vehicle category.

Marking the milestone
MMPC said the celebration of the Adventure’s 100,000th-unit milestone is also equally important for the total automotive manufacturing industry as the sustained demand for the model is contributing substantially to local employment, both through direct and indirect workers. At 47 percent, the company said the local parts content of the Adventure is one of the highest in the industry.

As a way of thanking its valued customers for their continued patronage to the Adventure, MMPC said it is offering attractive financial plans for all buyers of brand-new Adventures. Starting in May and lasting until the end of the month, MMPC and its dealers are providing as much as P100,000 in savings on the Adventure GLX. Besides the discount, all customers who purchase a brand-new Adventure receive a limited edition windshield sun shade and also automatically qualify in a raffle draw that gives them a chance to win P100,000 in cash. Ten Adventure customers will win in the raffle promo.
