PRESIDENT Benigno Aquino 3rd has appointed Anthony Aguilar as commissioner of the Presidential Commission on Good Government (PCGG) to take the place of Nelson Acebo, who resigned to return to the private sector.

Just like Acebo, Aguilar is a certified public accountant (CPA) and a Master of Business Administration (MBA).

He also obtained three international degrees from the United States: master’s degrees in Public Administration and International Taxation from the Harvard-Kennedy School of Government and the Harvard Law School, respectively, and in Management from the Arthur Little School of Management in Cambridge, Massachusetts.

PCGG Chairman Andres Bautista was elated with Aguilar’s appointment.

“With his over 30 years of experience in finance, taxation and general management plus an 18-year stint in the public sector, Commissioner Aguilar is equipped with the right skills set to oversee the PCGG’s finance and administration department,” he said.

We believe that the Office of the President made a good choice in selecting him as new Commissioner of PCGG because Mr. Aguilar has the educational background and experience to handle this new job. Congratulations, Mr. Aguilar!!
