WORLD Boxing Organization (WBO) light flyweight champion Donnie “Ahas” Nietes started training this week to prepare for his voluntary defense in August against an undetermined foe and a mandatory rematch against Mexican Moses Fuentes in November.

“I’m preparing hard for my next battle and I’m expecting both my upcoming opponents are tough,” said Nietes, 31, who retained his title via majority decision win against Fuentes in March. “So far, I still have no idea whom I will fight in August but I must be ready.”
