• Ahead of Indiana primary, Donald Trump says China ‘raping’ US

CITING a yawning trade deficit of $500 billion, Republican frontrunner Donald Trump has said China was raping the US, which, he promised, will stop when he becomes president. “We can’t continue to allow China to rape our country, and that’s what they’re doing,” Trump said during an election rally in Indiana on Sunday, ahead of the Wednesday primaries. “We’re going to turn it around. And we have the cards, don’t forget it. We’re like the piggy bank that’s being robbed. We have the cards. We have a lot of power with China,” Trump said. It was not a new point he was making — he has said several times that the Chinese were out-thinking America on trade — but that was the first time he used the word “rape” for China. In another context, Trump has used the world to slam illegal immigration, calling most of those come to the US illegally criminals and rapists. He has not backed down despite protests.
