• AirAsia, PLDT units sign digital enterprise deal


    AIRASIA Philippines has signed a partnership contract with PLDT ALPHA Enterprise and Smart Enterprise covering wireless information, communications and technology.

    “As the digital enterprise enabler, PLDT ALPHA Enterprise and Smart Enterprise look forward to further collaborate with AirAsia in finding new and better ways to use digital technologies to optimize business and enhance customer experience,” said Jovy Hernandez, PLDT first vice president.

    The digital world presents a paradigm shift in how PLDT works, serves, and engages with customers, the PLDT official said.

    AirAsia started its Philippine operations in 2011 in Clark, Pampanga via a joint venture agreement with Filipino investors.

    The company then formed a strategic partnership with Ambassador Alfredo Yao’s Zest Air, the result of which was the rebranded as AirAsia Zest. The airline subsequently moved its operations to the Ninoy Aquino International Airport.

    Through the partnership, PLDT ALPHA Enterprise and Smart Enterprise will provide AirAsia with such digital enterprise solutions as IPVPN, Dedicated Internet Access Service (iGate), Smart Messaging Suite, and Smart Mobile plans.

    “Our partnership with PLDT ALPHA Enterprise and Smart Enterprise is expected to deliver seamless connection and efficient service offerings that meet the needs of today’s travelers,” AirAsia Philippines CEO Joy Cañeba said.

    The contract was ceremony held in Makati City recently and attended by officials of PLDT, Smart, and AirAsia Philippines.
