THE Manila International Airport Authority (MIAA) has deployed 21 new buses as it relaunched the Ube Express premium airport bus service operated by Air21.
The buses will ferry passengers from the four terminals of the Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA) to various drop off points along Roxas Boulevard., Intramuros in Manila and the Makati Business District.
Jess Martinez of the MIAA media affairs division said the pick up and drop off points along Roxas Boulevard are Midas Hotel, Hotel Jen, Manila Hotel, Mall of Asia and Entertainment City, and Glorietta 4 and 5 and Ascott Hotel in Makati City.
Martinez said MIAA officials are planning to add new routes to accommodate more passengers. He added that even non-airline passengers are allowed to ride the bus.
The airport bus service will operate on a 24-hour basis. Buses will leave pick up points every 20 minutes.
The airport bus service was first launched in February but it did not take off.
This time, officials lowered the original P300 fare to P150.
Each bus, which can seat 24 passengers, has a built-in Wifi and a steward or stewardess will be on hand to attend to passengers.
